My life with Mary began with a child's wish. When my youngest daughter was only four years old, she asked if we could visit Mary at her school because it was summer vacation and Mary would be all alone.
We made many little pilgrimages to Mary that summer, brought our picnic, and sat with Her. Before long, we needed a Mary of our own in the backyard. She has been part of the family ever since. Little did I know I would make many pilgrimages to Mary all over the world in the years to come.
My life eventually brought me and my husband to Assisi, Italy the home of St. Francis of Assisi, where we lived for over 12 years. There I made a Mary grotto with local stone cutters. We visited the marble town of Pietra Santa and had a special Mary made from the same mountain marble that Michelangelo used for his statues. She became part of our Center for all religions in Assisi from 2000-2012.
Once you are touched by Her love it is natural to want to share this love. With deep gratitude for the peace She has brought to my life I give to you these prayer flags. May Her presence be with you. May the wind blow Her love to everyone and everything.
After years of devotion to Mother Mary I was inspired to create these beautiful Mary Prayer Flags. They are images from Mary Shrines that I have visited from around the world. The Mary from Assisi, Italy we had hand made from local stone artisans. She now resides at our Silent Stay Retreat Hermitage in the hills near Napa, California. We lead meditation retreats here for people of all religions and I now teach Heartfulness Meditation as a way to feel this special love in our hearts.
